The hardest part of the Discover Scuba dive is the completing of the paper work and getting your wet suit on the right way. After completing your medical questionnaire your instructor will then go through a flip chart. This chart explain how to equalize your ear, how to breath and what gear you will be using. The next step from there it is in to a full set of scuba gear and in to either a pool or of the beach for familiarization with your gear. A few dive operators offer their 1st time divers a chance to practice some basic skill in a swimming pool and some dive operators utilize the shallow waters of the beach.
Scuba Diving In Vanuatu for New Divers
After familiarizing yourself with your scuba gear and some basic skills such as a partial mask flush, which is a great skill to master and utilize for both divers and snorkelers, you will then perform a regulator removal and recover and spend a bit of time just getting use to breathing and swimming with your full set of dive gear on before you head out for a dive. As a Discover Scuba Diver you will be taken out to a dive site via boat which is offered by some operators or from the beach offered by other dive operators.

The travel time can vary between 10 minutes to 20 minutes depending on which operator you choose to us. Once at the dive site you will be taken to a depth of no deeper than 12 meters or approx 40 feet. Most 1st time divers can expect to be underwater exploring Vanuatu’s beautiful waters for anything from 20 minutes up to 40 minutes depending on how quickly consume their air. While down you will be amazed by the beauty of the underwater world. You will discover many beautiful fish, soft corals, hard coral and just the beauty of the underwater world. Some fish that you can expect to see and enjoy while you are underwater are check clown fish (Nemo’s), the grace of the bat fish and the mystery of the moray eel.
